Overview
Hike to the highest peak on the island for panoramic ocean views. Sitting at 2,589 feet, you’ll see the entire island of Ischia as well as Procida, Capri, and the Gulf of Naples off in the distance. While steep and almost entirely uphill, the hike is doable for anyone with an average fitness level. After reaching the summit, stop for a snack and refreshment at La Grotta Da Fiore.

Trailhead: Take the CS or CD bus to the main square in the small village of Fontana. From there, follow the sign posts for Mount Epomeo (everything is up-hill from here). It’s a 45-minute walk to the start of the hike.

Tips
Use the bathroom at La Grotta Da Fiore restaurant before/after descending.
Arrive early to beat the heat and crowds.
